It's the small things

Sometimes life gets so stressful, it's hard to find any calm, any joy. I try to make those days as few and far between as possible and it usually takes hanging onto the tiny things. Today, it was a red tomato.
I spent the last four days between Louisville and Evansville, unable to tend to my plants. They're only a few weeks away from harvesting and things around here were getting really hot, so I was a little worried. I moved all the pots underneath the deck so they wouldn't be in excessive heat all day and hoped for some rain. It worked. Not only is there a red tomato but there are several new buds. And the lettuce is doing really well too.
That means by the end of the week I'll have a homemade, homegrown salad for lunch!
