We finally made it to the berry patch! Greg and I had an unique day off together Friday and used it to get to Huber's orchard to get our hands on as many strawberries and red raspberries we could fit in our boxes.
We went for the first time last year and were addicted. We tried to go last week, but it was pouring rain the only morning we could go so we had to wait another week. Luckily, there is still about two weeks left to get the berries. I picked about 8 pounds of strawberries and two and a half pounds of red raspberries. Greg had a little less. We were out there for two hours, but the time really flew.
When we came home we made some strawberry raspberry rhubarb crepes for lunch that turned out really well.
Hopefully we'll be able to make it back when the blackberries, blueberries, peaches and apples come into season.
We spent the rest of the day hanging out and took Daisy for a nice long walk at Cherokee park. Needless to say she was excited.

It was a great day together just taking advantage of some of the summer activities we enjoy so much but can never do together. This was the first day since New Year's Day we both had a scheduled day off. Let me tell you, it's getting old.
There's nothing we can do about, this is the life we chose, but I think the minute either of us get a chance to change things we will. We've been dating for two and a half years, have only lived in the same city for six of those months and have only had the same schedule for about three months. It's surprising we've been able to do as much as we have. Luckily, we like to do a lot of the same things, we just both have to find the patience to understand we can't always do what we want together and learn to take advantage of the little time we have.
